Editing Silence
The WireTap Studio editor can delete all silence in a recording, place a marker at points of silence, or crop leading and trailing silence.
Choose the option in the Editor menu and then set the criteria for determining silence.
To edit silence in a recording:
- Select a recording in the library and click on the Edit button, or simply double click the file.
NOTE: To edit a file not recorded by WireTap Studio go to the File menu and select Open... - Go to the Editor menu and choose Delete Silence... to remove the silent portion of the recording, Mark Silence...to place a marker at points of silence, or Crop Leading and Trailing Silence... to remove silence at the beginning and end of a recording.
- Set the parameters that determine silence in the Silence Threshold drop down sheet.
- Click on OK and the silence as set in step 3 will be edited according to the option chosen in step 2.
- To save your changes, either go to the File menu to Save, press command s, or close the recording and click on Save in the dialog presented.
Silence Threshold - use this slider to determine what level of audio constitutes silence.
Duration Limit - use this slider to determine how long the audio level set in the Silence Threshold slider has to be before it constitutes silence.
